On the 13th of December, our school hosted the traditional ‘Christmas Academy‘. Students from grades five through nine took part in creating short sketches and singing Christmas themed songs. The performances were very lively and amusing, as was clear by the enthusiastic ovations of the audience. We hope to entertain in the same way next year and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2018.
On Friday, the 9th September me and my classmates went to the Historic center of Prague. There, we asked tourists six special questions. We were there for about two hours and we were working in ten smaller groups. We met a lot of people from different parts of the world. The week after that we had to write about this day and make some graphs. At school we worked in six bigger groups. Every group had to write up one question. I believe everyone enjoyed this fantastic project.
On Thursday the 21st of April we took a trip to Terezín. We were there with students from the 9th grade. Our tour started in the morning at 8 o’clock in front of the school. When we arrived in Terezín we went to the small fortress with our guide. He told us about the horrible things that happened there. Then we went to the cemetery. There were so many tombs. After that we went to the Ghetto. There were names and letters from Jewish kids and other interesting things. Our tour ended at the incinerator. We rode back to Prague at 3 o’clock. It was an interesting and humbling experience, where we realized the dangers of extremism and hatred that are still present in our society today.
